A picture of five generations is a pretty rare one so take a look at this! Baby Denzil Allen came into the world last December to make the fifth generation and here we have them. Allan Brown is off to the New Zealand Forestry Department, Wellington, as a cadet mechanical draughtsman. Allan, whose cadetship lasts for five years, is the son of Mr and Mrs G. Brown, 5 Kauri Street.

A grand trek into the wilds of Waimata was enjoyed by these members of the Turanganui branch of the Gisborne Pony Club. Under the guidance of David Graham, they trekked to the upper reaches of the valley where they stayed overnight before returning to the point of their departure at Taruheru.
