Young Ken Holloway, 12, has been doing very well up north in the gymnasium world. He has been doing only gymnastics this year. He gained highest individual marks in the Auckland schools' gym champs last July, was selected for the New Zealand Schools' Association champs in September, where his team won and he again had top individual marks, and then again last October took top honours at the Auckland Gymnastics Association competitions at Onehunga. Ken is the son of Mr and Mrs J. Holloway, formerly of Chalmers Road and now of Auckland, and the grandson of Mr and Mrs R. K. Fitzmaurice, 22 Abbott Street.

This poodle pup (arrowed) was spurned by its mother at birth and was in danger of starving until Carol Logan at the Pet Research Centre got hold of it and put it with one of the centre cats which had kittens. This had been done before in England so not surprisingly the little pup took to the cat's milk and hasn't looked back. This was a few weeks back and the pup has since been weaned.
