The new Gisborne Flying School has commenced operations and the plane they have for instructional flying is one of the advanced Piper Cherokee 140s, It is ideal for flight training and pictured with the craft is chief flying instructor Graham McDonald, The two other members of the company are Messrs Roger Jones and Granville Jones (director).

A trampoline marathon, with sponsors and admission charges, saw four boys from the Y.M.C.A. break the 48 hour record. The money from the effort will go towards a trampoline for the Y.M.C.A. camp at Waipiro Bay. On the trampoline are Tony File and Ian Christie and at back are Tony Fox and Murray Douglas.

The hailstorm of a few weeks back, while not severe in the city, did some damage out Wainui way. This car did not escape. The sudden cold of the sharp hailstones combined with the warm car bonnet resulted in a contraction which split and lifted the paintwork, leaving it like this.
