Twenty furrows at once! That was the story when these five Fiat tractors gave a ploughing demonstration in the country recently. On Mr Henry Dods's property at Re-pongaere, Hansen and Tomlinson had these machines lined up to demonstrate the range of Fiats to farmers, and our picture holds the total of 315 horsepower turning over the ground.

Hundreds of people bought "Mining rights" to this stretch of beach at Midway to look for treasure in the last fund raising effort by the Swimming Queen during the Olympic Pool Queen Carnival. Tickets enabled finders to claim prizes.

Used over the past 50 odd years as the Parish Hall, the original Holy Trinity church in Derby Street had its steeple removed recently. It was becoming unsafe and was detached by one of Monk Bros, cranes. The building was consecrated by Bishop Williams on April 11, 1875.
