Seattleites who returned to live in Seattle a while back after spending 20 years as residents of Gisborne, were Bob and Beryl Haskin. They went up from Seattle, U.S.A., to Vancouver, Canada, to see their old friends Colin and Elsie Graham (Muir Street) when the ship in which the Grahams were travelling (on their way to Scotland for a holiday) called there. From left are Bob Haskin, Elsie Graham, Beryl Haskin and Colin Graham. Bob Haskin was in the painting and decorating business when he was in Gisborne.

Prominent cyclist Peter Hailey, with his wife and family, has left Gisborne to live in Vancouver. Road racing was his forte and the Watties Amateur Cycling Club will have a big gap to fill in the club ranks with Peter's departure.

Again this year, through advertising by Radio 2ZG and transportation by N.A.C., "Operation Sunshine" took place. Nearly two tons of lemons were collected and went south to lemon-short Invercargill where the fruit was distributed to needful people and organisations. Packing some of the fruit are 2ZG manager Ian Vernazoni and N.A.C. manager Colin Bell.
