April Ivess has passed her finals and completed her training at the Lower Hutt hospital. She will stay there until the end of the year, after which she intends going to Canada for a year and then further afield. April is the daughter of Mr and Mrs V. C. Ivess, 517 Aberdeen Road.

Marie Pahau, the daughter of Mr W. Pahau, New Plymouth, and Mrs H. Pahau, Taumarunui, and formerly of Gisborne, celebrated her 21st birthday recently. Marie has not long completed three years' service in the W.R.N.Z.N.S. and she leaves later in the month to work in Australia.

L/Cpl. Patrick Barrott, the son of Mrs J. E. Barrott, Kowhai Street, and the late Mr R. W. Barrott, came of age recently and celebrated his birthday in Singapore. Pat has now left there and is serving in Vietnam.

Mrs M. Sayers, Wildish Street, recently celebrated birthday number 83 at the home of her daughter, Mrs S. McNamara, Ormond Road. Also present were Mrs Sayers' grand-daughter and great-granddaughter, Mrs J. Lewis and Heather of Huxley Road, to make up a direct four-generation photo.
