"Something to crow about!" Vickie Middlemiss, 4 Chalmers Road, won the pet parade, held at the recent bird show, with her pet rooster "Cecil". Performing well, "Cecil" proceeded to tell us all about it when we asked for a few details. Vickie holds the cup she won with "Cecil".

Mr George Hibdige, of 30 Churchill Crescent, grew this rarity in his vege garden – a sunflower seed came up with a crop of lupins and grew and grew and grew! So what do we have? We have a summer-flowering sunflower flowering summerlike in the middle of winter!
