Only a Beautiful Picture...
Paintings, from water colours to oils, were on display at the Hard of Hearing Painters' Exhibition. Some excellent work was seen, but the one thing about the display was that the artists, having all enjoyed doing their paintings, took part in the exhibition with great enthusiasm. The painting sessions are run by the Hard of Hearing League and held in their rooms once a week but anyone can join in the activity.
Mrs Lyla Richards, daughter-in-law of Mrs Beatrice Richards (centre), and Mrs Richards' sister, Mrs Eva Dixon, all had paintings on display.
Mrs Ivy Creighton with two of her framed paintings.
Mrs Ada Tune admiring some of the works
Miss Winifred O'Halloran (organiser of the exhibition) and Mrs Jean Bird (the league's tutor) with some of the paintings.
