All That Wool

A new kind of record was reached when Sam Farr shore the 1,000,000th sheep for shearing contractor Robbie Cooper. Under Robbie Cooper's direction, gangs in the Gisborne, Rotorua and Ashburton areas have shorn 1,000,000 sheep between them. The lucky sheep was a five-year-old Romney ewe and the performance took place on Harold Thomas's station, north of Whangara.
