Gisborne West Rotary Club was host to the new Governor for Rotary District 294, Mr Stan Ransom, at a tea meeting held at Ulverstone recently. A recent visitor to see his parents, Mr and Mrs George Berry, Ngatapa, was Jihl Berry who is now a civil engineer living in Bendigo, Australia. He came over particularly to see his mother who was in hospital. Jihl Berry (left) is pictured with his father, and an aunt, Mrs V. Berry.

After the very successful Banks and Solander exhibition organised by the Business and Professional Women's Club, that organisation was able to present a cheque for $250 to the Community Hall appeal. Mr Marshall Stewart receives the cheque on behalf of the appeal from Club president Mrs Joan Coates. At centre is Mr Peter Fisher, wild life ranger, under whose guidance much of the material was gathered for the exhibition.
