Irrepressible Laughter

Unity Theatre's latest production, "Busybody", drew good houses to the Derby Street Theatre. The audiences relished the story of the irrepressible London char who discovers a body in the offices she is cleaning, then solves the mystery in a way particularly infuriating to the police. This was Unity's fifth production for this year and with another production due in January it seems that the vigour of our local theatre is undiminished.

"Do You think the boss is a murderer?" Vickie Reynolds (Val Davies) questions the boss's private secretary, Marian Selby (Lynne Walker).

Lead in the production, Doreen Harrison as the char (Mrs Piper), discovers the "body" of her employer, Richard Marshall, in his private office and calls the police.

"James Cameron has been murdered!" Detective Superintendent Baxter (Brian Cullen) produces a nasty surprise for Claire Marshall (Lois Johnson) and Mrs Piper.
