$50,000 Loss

A loss estimated at $50,000 was sustained when the Morrin Hardy Ltd's wool and skin store went up in flames on October 15. Damage to telephone lines necessitated calling the fire brigade from a phone about half a mile down the road, and on arrival the brigade could do little but contain the blaze.
