Cook's Chorale

Now in rehearsal for their presentation of "Our Endeavour" is the Gisborne Choral Society. The society is presenting this production in the War Memorial Hall on September 12 and 13. It is the story of Cook's voyage to New Zealand presented in song, from his pre-sailing preparations, through the voyage and to his landing on our own Gisborne shore. It promises to be a real musical treat as all the songs, except those especially written for the production, are well known. They include songs of England, Scotland and Ireland as well as sea shanties and Maori songs.
