Deserving Win

Over 80 teams from Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, and the East Coast took part in the annual Henderson Basketball Tournament held at the centre courts on July 26.

The G.H.S. (1) team really had to work hard to win the magnificent Kathleen Henderson Shield. Runner-up in the "A" grade and winner of the Carmichael trophy is Greywing (1). The team is, from left, Diane Stubbings (captain), Mary James (vice-captain), Lu Barbara, Shona Hanlen, Jan Duncan, Joyce McCarthy, Di Davoren, and Lorraine Seales. The score was G.H.S. (1), 10, and Grey-wing (1), 9.
