This year the Gisborne Branch of N.Z. Travel and Holidays Association presented its Travel Enterprise Award to Mr Tom Watson, the City Council's superintendent of Parks and Reserves. Through his work Mr Watson has been responsible for Gisborne's public gardens and the development of the city's parks. In doing so he has engendered a sense of pride in the city's citizens which in turn makes Gisborne an attractive place to visit, thus fostering the work of the Travel and Holidays Association. Also at the presentation, which was held at Ulverstone, was the supervisor of National Parks for N.Z., Mr G. E. Nicholls. He presented a very interesting address on national parks in the U.S.A.
