Our Cover

Judy Callaghan, a toll operator in the Gisborne Telephone Exchange, graces our cover this month. she is pictured alongside a giant red telephone which symbolises the great degree in which communications will be used to contact New Zealand and the rest of the Commonwealth in October and during the rest of the year for the Captain James Cook Bicentennial Year celebrations. The telephone was kindly supplied by the Post Office workshops and" Was used in the Post Office display recently.
