Awards Presented

Once again the standard of work entered in the Gisborne section of the Wool Crafts Competitions, sponsored by the N.Z. Wool Board, was extremely high. The two sections, sewing and hand knitting, were open to members of the W.D.F.F. and the C.W.I.

Miss Winifred Morice, second in the sewing section, and Mrs Columbine Black, Nuhaka, who won first place.

Mrs Jean Parker, a key member of the co-ordinating committee, Mr Fred Humphrey, representing Federated Farmers, and Mrs Pat Stewart, national judge for the sewing section. Mr Humphrey presented the prizes.

Mrs Roberta Knox took first place in the knitting section with a dainty baby dress, and second place went to Mrs Edith Olds with a smart three-coloured suit.
