Chiller Beef Trophies to Waipura Station

With his winning entry for best beast on the hoof and a high tally of points in the hook and cuts section, Mr W. MacLaurin, Waipura Station, won both the Hair Memorial Challenge Cup and the Fletcher Rose Bowl at the annual Chiller Beef competition. This was held at the Kaiti Works and was conducted by the A. & P. Association for the N.Z. Meat Producers' Board.

At the competition Mr Wyn Morley, a works supervisor, explained what the judges looked for in "on the hook" judging.
