Makauri Capers
A large number of parents and supporters turned up for the Makauri school gala day. Stalls chokka-block with goodies and good prizes for the competitions ensured a successful day.

In a house competition Raewyn Torrie's Matatua house was first with 2,657 votes. The other placegetters were Pauline Mills (Aotea), Coralie Barron (Takitimu), and Sally Paviour-Smith (Harouta). They are pictured with the queen and princesses in the form of dolls made and dressed by Mrs M. Michie.
