Championship Fours
The Centre Champion of Championship Fours was played on the Poverty Bay greens recently. At this final Geoff Weatherley was presented with a gold bar after winning the centre champion of champion pairs recently. Geoff is one of three living bowlers in the Gisborne-East Coast Centre to win a bar to his gold medal. The other two are Wally Langlands and Stan McKenzie. A bar is awarded only after winning ten centre titles.

The Gisborne Club four, Tom Vaughan (skip), Frank Hale (3), Alex Allen (2) and Peter Kaua (lead), won the championship fours title.
Runners-up were Geoff Weatherley (skip), George Weatherley (3), Norm Baynes (2) and Hec Weatherley (lead) of Kahutia.
