Billie-Jean gave Dell her skirt which she autographed when the tournament was over. Dell, who is making a name for herself in the squash world, is at the moment the sixth best squash player in the country.

Pictured with Mrs Billie-Jean King, the famous American tennis player, during the Benson and Hedges Open tennis tournament in Auckland last February is Aileen (Dell) Buscke, daughter of Mr and Mrs D. R. Buscke, Patutahi. Dell also met other players----Roy Emerson, Owen Davidson, Fred Stolle, Tony Roche, Brian Fairlie and Kevin Woolcott.

Mr and Mrs W. Bartlett, Te Karaka, have every reason to be proud of their grandson, Darryll Walden. Last year he won the N.W. Hood Cup for the champion boy swimmer, the A.L. Dowding Cup for excellence in art, and the Road Safety certificate of merit for rendering meritorious service as a traffic warden. Darryll is a pupil at the Te Karaka Primary School.

David Wright, club captain of the Comet Swimming Club, recently celebrated his coming of age with his parents in Westport, where his father is headmaster of tne Westport South School. David (right) is pictured with a friend, Dr R. Bundellu of Westport.
