The new Pastor of the Apostolic Church, Pastor H. L. Arnold, arrived recently to take up his new appointment. He is pictured with his wife and three of their children, Russell, Valerie and Jocelyn. Their eldest daughter, Lois, is attending the Teachers' Training College in Hamilton.

An unusual parcel arrived in the post for Elizabeth Holloway, 17 Miro Street, recently. It was from her pen friend in Japan, Keiko Shiraishi. It was a hogoita, a small bat shaped ornament to which was attached a beautiful Japanese doll. These would be rather rare in New Zealand. Elizabeth, who has been corresponding with her friend for about two years, also received a Japanese newspaper.

Stuart Carter, son of Mr and Mrs M. A. Carter, 185 Roebuck Road, has graduated Diploma of Physical Education at Otago University. He now has a position at Papakura High School, but aims later to study in Canada for his Master's Degree.

The completed fountain, built by the Jaycees as a gift to the city, presents a serene appearance in Kelvin Park. The fountain will be featured in colour in a later issue.
