Four generations were present when Charles Priday celebrated his 90th birthday recently. A member of the City Council staff for 36 years, Mr Priday was a British Army man in India before coming to Gisborne in 1911. At 6 Mill Road Mr Priday (centre) is pictured with Linda Mead (great-grand-daughter), Shirley Mead (grand-daughter), Phillip Priday (son), Catherine Bernstein (daughter), Joyce Bernstein (great-granddaughter), and Margaret Priday (grand-daughter).

Another four generations together is pictured at 611 Aberdeen Road. They are, from left, Ethel Warren who was celebrating her 80th birthday, Peter Parsonage (grandson), Paul Parsonage (great-grandson), and Kath Parsonage (grandmother).

Mr and Mrs Garth Stephens were the recipients recently of a gift from the New Zealand Insurance Co., to mark Mr Stephens' 30 years' service with the company. Prior to serving in Gisborne Garth spent 17 years with the firm in South Africa.

Bill Blair, 27 Salisbury Road, has retired from his duties on the weighbridge. He leaves after 26 years' service.
