Around the School

In the course of an educational visit to Gisborne these children made a tour of the Photo News premises. They came mostly from Whakatane, with some of them coming from the smaller schools in the Bay of Plenty near Whakatane.

Another educational tour was undertaken recently by the students of the Rerekohu District High School, Te Araroa. They visited Tolls and Telegraph, St. Johns, the library, the hospital, department stores, the harbour, then finished off their week-long visit with a day at the Show. From left, at back: Mrs B. A demonstration of modern audio-visual aids for the classroom was demonstrated to teachers from Gisborne and outlying schools recently by Mr G. H. Wilson of Wellington. Included in the number of aids available were magnet and flannel boards (left) being demonstrated by Mr Wilson, and an 8mm loop rear projector for colour projection in daylight, and a syncro-tape-recorder (below).
