Popular Choice

The judges had a very difficult task in deciding on the East Coast representative for the Mrs New Zealand contest.

A large crowd in the War Memorial Hall warmly applauded the final choice, that of Mrs Gladys Phillips, 13 MacDonald Street.

She will go forward to Napier to compete for the regional title, and, we hope, go on to become Mrs New Zealand.
