Recent visitors to the city on a one day educational tour were these pupils from the Whangara School. They included the wharves, the railway station, the ambulance station and the library on their itinerary.

The pupils were shown over the ambulance station by Mr G. Howchow. At the station they were given demonstrations of equipment. Just before they left they were shown a very old stretcher which is believed to be nearly one hundred years old, and was used then to carry the sick and wounded in war.

At the library these boys had the opportunity of looking at the excellent range of books available there.

Some of the girls in the group also enjoyed an hour inspecting the books.
