Jaycees

The Jaycee fountain project got under way recently in Kelvin Park.

The centre base pipe was dug in first, drainage tiles laid, and beams set with ready-mix concrete from Mobile Concrete. Working bees will continue until such time as the fountain is completed.

Recent Jaycee projects have been numerous. One of the bigger undertakings was the house-to-house health stamp sales campaign in which 25 Jaycees drove volunteer sellers around various areas. $1,008 was gathered in sales.

More projects included section clearing in Aberdeen Road (above), hedge removal in Ballance Street, and scenic sign painting.
