Peter Read, Wellington Astronomer well known for his TV programme "The Night Sky", visited Gisborne recently to lecture on astronomy to a public meeting organised by the Gisborne Astronomical Society. He is greeted on arrival by Ross Bodle (left), secretary of the society, and Archie Brunton (right, president).

A grand family reunion was held recently in the city. Members of the Waugh family got together, some of them for the first time in 30 years.
