Picture from Mr T. Jamieson, 4 Crossfields, Loughton, Essex shows farewell party-held to bid bon voyage to Mr A. W. Beattie, 24 Williams Street, Gisborne. For the past 18 months Mr Beattie has been studying and working with A.E.Knight Ltd., the English piano manufacturers, and the party was given in his honour by Mr Knight. Mr Beattie, here wearing a festive fez, is now on his way home. "A darn good joker, we were all sorry to see him leave", says Mr Jamieson's letter to "Photo News".

Mr and Mrs C. W. A. Richards, of Aberdeen Road, celebrated their silver wedding recently when about 100 friends and relations gathered at Low's rooms for a happy social and dance.

Among those recently engaged: Beverley Sadie, only daughter of Mr and Mrs M. J. Mc Fetridge, of Palmerston North, and Francis Robert (Bob), only son of Mr and Mrs F. J. Herbert, Tolaga Bay. An old boy of Gisborne High School, Bob was captain of the P.B. cricket reps, and is also well known in golfing circles. He is shortly moving to Hastings on promotion with the Transport Department from Palmerston North.
