Members of the carol group of the Turanganui Pastorate did exceptionally well at the recent Hui Topu held at Whakatane. The group under the conductorship of carol master Moni Taumanui came second in their section when competing against 30 other groups.

Making a most attractive picture are Mrs P. Wallace and her daughter Karyn of 34 Churchill Crescent. Karyn gained first place in the six-months-and-under section of the baby show contest held at the Intermediate School gala day recently. The section attracted 14 entries. (Mayfair Studios).

Another eatery which has opened up in town in recent months is the Blue Heron. Upstairs near the Regent Theatre, the restaurant caters for lunches and dinners. It is at present undergoing more renovations which will include in the future a small fountain and taped music.
