The Rotary Cup for the oratory contest among the High Schools was this year won by Gary Monk of Lytton High who receives the cup from Rotary president Bill De Costa. At right are the other two contestants Kevin Petersen (Edmund Campion), and Tony Adeane (Boys' High School).

About 140 young people joined the hayride out to the Patutahi Hall recently for a Youth For Christ rally. Singing on the way out was enjoyed and after the rally a barbeque was held to feed the hungry people.
