Around The Clubs

Art Society. Mr Stanley Bugden, a local artist, held a three week exhibition recently. The majority of the 80 paintings were water-colours of landscapes.

Croquet. The Junior President's Invitation croquet event was played in wet conditions at Barry Memorial Park. Play commenced on March 25 and lasted for a week.

A Notice To Indoor Bowlers And Those Interested.

The P.B. Indoor Bowling Club is commencing coaching classes at 7pm on April 23» 30, and May 14, 21. Coaches are Eric Scragg (Ph. 6559) and Jock Harrison (Ph. 4013). The two P.B. players above are Glenda Brown and Karl Davenport.

Rotary. Guest speaker on March 25 was Sir Leslie Munro, former president of the United Nations General Assembly and the present Member of Parliament for Waipa. Sir Leslie (centre), who is pictured with the Rotary president, Mr A. H. De Costa (left), and the chairman of Rotary's international service committee, Mr J. C. Corson, spoke on the Vietnam situation, then answered many and varied questions from members.

Players competing in the event were Mr R. Clarke (Gisborne), Mr H. Steptoe ((Wellington), Mesdames A. Jones (Oamaru), B. Fry (Nelson), G. Yarrall (Morrinsville), R. Sandonn (Wellington), W. Martin (Taihape) and J. More (Dunedin).
