Spinning A Record

Creating a new record of 3hrs 4min and taking the prize of $120 was the result of the "woolly" West Coasters' effort in the Hawkes Bay Farmers' Silver Spinning Wheel contest, one of the major events in Wairoa's Wool Week. The team will also hold the Silver Spinning Wheel for 12 months. The week was opened by the Japanese ambassador, Mr H. Takeuchi, at a function held at the Frasertown Tavern.
