On Four Feet And Two

On Four...

The first two members of the Gisborne Pony Club to get the A certificate were Lynne Bruce and Gillian Nicholls. An honour not easily earned, the standard of the exam is extraordinarily high, as must needs be for such a world-wide award. These two girls deserve every congratulation.

On Two...

Mr Archie Richmond, 76, of 12 Dickson Street, is still fit and active, and even at this stage of his life would put many a younger man to shame. He thinks nothing of climbing Mr. Egmont on odd occasions just for the heck of it, and, on his last trip up the mountain he took these pictures and brought them into us.

As the antithesis of the seriousmess of the exam is this light-hearted shot of the short and the tall. Susie Hansen on the midget pony Blue Moon makes Atlas, who is bigger than the average horse, look even larger. Atlas is ridden by newcomer from England, Andrea Booth.
