Texans See Country's Best

All eyes in the stock world were on a group of Texan Hereford cattle breeders when they paid a short visit to Gisborne recently. They were on their way to the world Hereford conference in Sydney and came to Gisborne because we have the reputation as producers of the best Herefords in New Zealand - as witness the marked success of local studs in various shows throughout the country.

The party of fourteen came to Gisborne through the arrangement of Barry Standring (secretary of the New Zealand Hereford Breeders' Assoc.) with Gisborne branch of the association whose committee consisted of Derek Barker, David Reeves, Jack Bain, Tony Bain and E. H. (Frosty) Goodall who organised the local trips for the visitors.
