Jaycee Jottings
Local members of the Gisborne chapter of Jaycee held their annual ladies night recently and the dinner, held at Ulverstone, was a pronounced success. Highlight of the evening was the announcement of Seton Clare's granting of life membership to Jaycee International. A prominent member of the organisation since he joined in 1958, Seton was instrumental in revitalising the chapter in 1965 from whence it has gone from strength to strength.
Guest speaker for the evening was well known TV personality Rae Pritchard, who gave a humorous account of some of her work.

Among recent Jaycee activities was the car cleaning project on two Saturday mornings during the drought. With water brought in from the country, members set to with a will to wash anybody's car for a dollar. Needless to say, with the water restrictions in force, there were plenty ready to take advantage of the offer.
