Girls' High Sports

New records and keen competition were the order of the day at the Girls' High sports.

Although held under torrid conditions, the athletes acquitted themselves well.

Margo Jackson took the honours in the slow bicycle race with a masterly display of controlled riding.

Annette Franklin crosses the line first in the junior one mile cycle race.

Susan Tuhaka, the junior champion, creates a new record of nine seconds for the 75 yards.

Terina Koia, seen here taking the 75 yards intermediate championship, also equalled the record of 18.6secs for the intermediate 150 yards.
