A photo of the past...With the closing of the Tolaga Bay Dairy Co-operative Butter Factory in 1960 this gala day highlight is held no more. The judge for 27 years throughout the Poverty Bay district was Mr C. A. Cooper from Patutahi.

They marched with the 8th Army....A picture taken at the Maori Battalion reunion at Rotorua a few years ago. This year's reunion is to be held in North Auckland in August or September at Whangarei. C. Company members pictured are, at left, B. Smith, formerly of Tolaga and now with the Napier Police Force; with the hat is Doc Karini of Mangatuna, Albert Wanoa from Puketawai, and nearest the camera is Tutu Maurirere of Mangatuna.

Home vacated....To meet the cost of this Maori-Affairs-built home at Hauiti, owners Mr and Mrs Julian Thompson have to find employment elsewhere. Julian is at the Wellington Harbour and his wife Mona is on the staff of the Porirua Mental hospital. They are living at Porirua East.

Company Maori Battalion in Greece and the Middle East overseas in World War 11 are being served a hangi cooked dinner of pork and poultry, etc., by Tautine Karawa.
