Gary Moles and Jean McMillan got a real surprise when they came out of the church after their wedding on Labour Day. Waiting to take them to the reception was this unusual conveyance. Piping the "procession" which consists of Don McKay and Jim McMillan as the "animal" with Henry Summersby as "coachman" is Dave Smith.

Two Gisborne men who have really taken the initiative in promoting Eastland as a tourist area are Neil Summersby and Eric Wilcox. Neil (manager of Orange Grove Motels), and Eric (manager of the Red Bus Service) have gone off at their own expense and addressed seminars of travel agents in the four main centres where great interest has been shown in the promotion. Taking local pamphlets and brochures including our own publication "Gisborne Holiday Guide", the two men are being seen off at the airport by N.A.C. manager Colin Bell on the last of the trips.

Celebrating her 80th birthday at 151 Clifford Street is Mrs A. Dale who is pictured with her husband and family before cutting the cake. They are Mrs Evelyn Wykes, Geoff Dale, husband Alf, and Dennis Dale. Also getting in on the act are grandchildren and great-grandchildren Michael Dale, Tony Kirk, Jenny-Kay Johnson, Barry Kirk and Teri-Lynne Johnson.
