Thought to be the first of its kind, a Junior Red Cross Group has been formed at the Donnelly Training Centre. Pictured with the first members of the group are Mrs R. Steed and Mrs I. B. D. Holland (right). Mrs Steed, president of the I.H.C., will lead the group. Mrs Holland, convenor of the Junior Red Cross, formed the group.

The Gisborne Pottery Group bought a shed from the Turangi school sale which will give the 40 members of the group a permanent place for potting. The shed, now on a site next to the museum, is shown before being unloaded from Ward's truck.

Boys of the Saturday morning junior soccer group celebrated the end of the season with a gathering where captains received the trophies won by their teams. From left are Mr Ian Davidson (chairman), John Alexander (primary A grade) Alan Wilcox (primary B grade), Terry Parkins (Ilminster), and Paul Rickard (Intermediate) who were joint winners of the Intermediate cup, Lester Waugh (Intermediate), winners of the Barago-Kemp Shield, and "Chum Sharpies", organiser of the primary school league.
