Maintaining a high standard throughout his training, Stephen carried off one major and one minor prize at the graduation ceremony. The eldest son of Mr and Mrs H. Rodda, Tokomaru Bay, Stephen is an Old Boy of Gisborne Boys' High School.

David, who attended Wanganui College, is the younger son of Mr and Mrs G. Parker, Tutamoe station, Tolaga Bay.

Successfully pursuing his career in the R.N.Z.A.F. , Flight Sergeant Apprentice Stephen Rodda has graduated from No.19 Apprentice Fitters Course at R.A.A.F. , Wagga.

After completing the three years of the various nominated courses during his secondary schooling, and obtaining his bronze and silver medals, David Parker was awarded his gold medal of the Duke of Edinburgh Award by the Goyernor-General, Sir Bernard Fergusson, at Government House on July 13.

Recent visitors to Gisborne were members of the Maori Affairs Department, Wellington, who gave information about the department's trade and other special training schemes. Speaking before a good audience of parents, Mr R. V. Giles, head employment officer, outlined opportunities available for Maori school leavers in the larger towns and cities.
