Exotic Parade

A social and financial success was assured when 200 people bought all available tickets for the "Sari Supper" organised by the Poverty Bay Division of the Girl Guides.

The event was held to raise funds to send Lynora James to Ceylon in February to attend the World Camp Golden Jubilee of the Guide movement.

She is one of the three guides chosen to represent New Zealand.

During the evening a parade of saris was held after which an Indian supper of curry and rice was served.
