St. John Activities

Another series of competitions, this time the District Eliminations, was held at Hastings recently and a local team of lads attended the event.

The team (above) that went south consisted of, at back, Michael and Wayne Hamblyn, Paul Glasby, Roy Gallagher, and in front, Bill Sefton (cadet superintendent), John Rogers, Tony Hamblyn and John Stothers (cadet officer), John Rogers also won the individual champion of champions.

Training is held regularly every week at the St. John Ambulance rooms and (below) we see Sgt Maurie Edwards at right instructing David Main and Trevor Hollman at back and Robert Wilkie, Paul and Tony Hamblyn, and Paul Glasby on how to treat patient John Rogers for a fracture of the patella.

The district competition for nursing cadets in the Hawkes Bay-East Coast Area was held in Gisborne at the St.John rooms.
