World In Darkness

On the night of April 24 the first total eclipse of the moon for some years occurred, leaving our part of the world in total darkness.

The actual shadow of the earth started to pass across the moon's surface at 10.40 pm and the total eclipse was seen at 11.30pm.

Our flash unit was out of order that night so we were unable to get a picture of the moon in the dark to see what it looks like during an eclipse - which was unfortunate.

However, these sequence pictures show the order of the event.
