Vice-Regal Visit

A warm reception was accorded the Governor-General and Lady Fergusson at Whakarua Park, Ruatoria, when they were given a public welcome by the people of the East Coast.

Action songs, hakas, and speeches of welcome were on the programme in the morning.

In the afternoon the visitor's attended the prize-giving ceremony at the Ngata College where Lady Fergusson distributed the prizes.
