Triumphant Trip South

After the effort of making arrangements for trucking, shipping, feeding, stalling and showing, everyone from the Waihuka Stud at Manutuke was elated that their efforts had not gone unrewarded when champion bull, Waihuka Wilson 1st, maintained his unbeaten record in his breed sections at the 1966 Royal Show at Christchurch.

He took the Meat and Wool Cup which represents the overall championship of the beef breeds.

Gisborne entries, from Waihuka, Mokairau and Wilencote Studs, did exceptionally well by taking ten of the top places at the show.
