The Indians Come to Gisborne

One of this month's sports highlights was a visit from the Indian touring hockey team, which played Poverty Bay at the Childers Road reserve and won the match by eight goals to nil. After a week of heavy rain, the ground was partly covered with water, which had to be pumped away, but the weather gods relented at the last minute and the game was played in fine weather.
