Settled In

After the initial moving-in period the staff of the Poverty Bay Power Board's new building in Peel Street are now well settled in and pronounce working conditions exceptionally pleasant.

The 30,880 sq ft building is up-to-date in every respect, being earthquake resistant and having a comprehensive safety system of fire protection.

Power ventilation with filtered air keeps the building warm in winter and cool in summer.

The fan vent draws in filtered air for distribution through the building.

An extensive internal telephone network keeps the staff in touch with each other and the Carnarvon Street depot.
