Plenty Of Parsnip

Poverty Bay certainly has been misnamed as there has been nothing impoverished about the products out of our local gardens. We've had beans and kumeras, and now parsnips. This one was grown by Mrs Daphne MacIntosh, 5 Shaw Street, weighed 6lbs, was 2ft long and measured 21ins around the top. This masterpiece of cultivation is held up by Peg Des Barres who is a niece of the grower.
