The house on the corner of Fitzherbert Street and Ormond Road, the site of the new Gisborne Municipal Chambers, was cut in half and moved to a site in Mary Street. Picture shows first half of house being towed away.

A young wether which dressed out at 1681b, something of a record in mutton weights, is seen here at a Gisborne butcher's shop alongside a normal carcase. The abattoirs staff, experienced in such matters, said nothing like this had been seen before.

Mr Fred Hall's boat at Tatapouri, closely connected with the crayfish industry there, was holed in two or three places when it broke adrift in a southerly storm and went aground on the rocks about a month ago.

A modern design in cycle sheds has been adopted at the new Girls' High School.

Until they are completed, pupils' cycles are stacked in the open.
